Think about the feeling that comes over you when you gaze up at the Milky Way, listen to an incredible piece of music, or witness an act of great courage. This feeling, often complete with goosebumps and a shiver down our spine, is known as awe. And as it turns out, this underappreciated emotion just might hold the key to a meaningful and fulfilling life. Over the last few years, researchers have begun to study awe, and have started to understand how the moments that make us go “wow!” can lastingly change our lives. In this workshop, you’ll learn about why this universal human emotion holds such potential in different parts of our lives, and how experiences of awe can impact our psychological and physical well-being.
