Navigating the Ethical Challenges of Telemental Health

March 28 Breakfast 8:30am-8:45am   Training 8:45am-4:00pm $159, 6 Ethics CEUs Presenter: Lisa Ferentz, LCSW-C DAPA Doubletree Hilton Hotel, 1726 Reisterstown Road Baltimore, MD 21208 United States + Google Map

Using case examples from both the presenter’s and the participants’ practices, we will explore the ethical dilemmas that challenge issues including: confidentiality; the parameters of the client-therapist relationship; the testing of boundaries; conflicts of interest; and the unique struggles associated with therapy sessions that happen online.

Overview

As we process both the transferential and counter-transferential triggers and complications that can emerge, an open dialogue to brainstorm in small groups about possible solutions to these dilemmas will be encouraged.

We will also explore the pros and cons of moving towards a tele-mental health practice. Participants will simultaneously learn about how their professional Code of Ethics can impact and even dictate the outcome of these case scenarios. This is an ethics workshop that will actually keep you interested and engaged!
