(NEW) Online Training – Master Class in Dissociation

October 5 Login to Zoom.com 8:30am ; Training 8:45am-4:00pm $169, 6 CEUs Presenter: Lisa Ferentz, LCSW-C DAPA Zoom.com, MD + Google Map

In this roundtable discussion, participants will be encouraged to articulate the unique clinical challenges and potential pitfalls they are facing in their work with clients who present with a range of dissociative symptoms. The presenter will offer creative strategies and solutions that can help identify and work with the dissociative process.

Treatment Strategies Offered

Participants will be encouraged to submit questions and brief case scenarios in advance.  Since this information will be shared with other clinicians in the group, please do not divulge any identifying information that would breach client confidentiality. Participants are asked to email this material to the presenter, no later than one week before the training. In this way, less time will be spent “presenting” cases and more time can be given to problem solving!

We will then process the common themes and therapeutic dilemmas including: important psycho-education that should be woven into treatment; how to work with dissociation in session; how to help clients become more aware of their dissociative processes; how to empower clients to stay grounded and present when they need to; the impact of mirror neurons in session; how to assess for Dissociative Identity Disorder and then work with clients’ alters.  We will also identify and process the counter-transferential dynamics that can inadvertently trigger clinicians or undermine their efficacy. Role play, videos, and demonstrations will be incorporated into the training.
