Susan Stork is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC-ACS), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and is the founder Space Between Counseling Services in Baltimore City, Maryland. She specializes in counseling for individuals and couples using the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy® (PACT) co-developed by Stan Tatkin, PsyD, MFT. Helping both Type A’s (linear thinkers) and Creatives (non-linear thinkers), Susan employs a unique therapeutic focus that includes:

- High-functioning anxiety
- High-functioning Asperger’s
- Neurodiverse Couples
- Over-worked, over-focused and highly stressed + creative people in and out of relationships.
Using a client-centered approach, elements of motivational interviewing and intentional listening, Susan strives to empower clients to balance self-exploration with practical solutions, while creating a safe and trusting environment for growth to occur. Neuroscience, humanistic theories, strength-based and trauma-informed approaches, attachment models, mindfulness practices, and experiential education have informed Susan’s theoretical lens and driven her clinical work.
Susan became passionate about helping children and families in Baltimore City as an urban educator, school leader and school counselor in Baltimore City Schools for over a decade.
Seeking more direct routes to empower community change, Susan entered the world of community-based mental health by providing in-home therapy to Baltimore City and County residents. In addition, Susan is a “retired” adjunct Professor at Towson University, within Family Studies Department. She received her Bachelors of Family Studies from The University of Maryland, College Park and her Masters in School Counseling with a clinical focus on children and families from Loyola University. Susan is also a graduate of The Ferentz Institute’s Certificate in Advanced Trauma Training, Level’s I and II, and recently completed Level I of Brainspotting training.
Susan enjoys her recent role as a graduate student clinical supervisor in addition to her placement as a Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) for LGPC’s.
